the
Painting a Tiger
The Tiger was chosen because of its strength, beauty and
power, unfortunately, for those reason, it is now an
endangered species because of over hunting for its fur coat,
and its bones and body parts (for traditional Chinese
medicine), as well as habitat erosion.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) estimates that there are
between 5,000 and 7,000 Tigers left in the wild. Over the
last decade, the Tigers reside in 40 % less habitat, and
occupy only 7% of their historic range.
