Rhino At one time Rhinos were widespread throughout the African savannas and the tropical forests of Asia, now very few exist outside national parks and reserves.
There are three species of Rhinoceros: The Black Rhino,, White Rhino, and Asian Rhino, and they are listed critically endangered to probably extinct. The greatest threat by far to the rhino populations is poaching. Their horn is used in traditional Asian medicine where it is ground into a fine powder or manufactured into tablets as a treatment for a variety of illnesses.
